Ireland’s Edge is about shifting Ireland’s thinking towards a more integrated view of the arts and culture and of their place in our society and economy. It is an attempt to investigate the particular Edge that our unique and dynamic culture gives us. We regard it as imperative that culture be given a central role as we try to plan creatively and effectively for the future of our country.
At Ireland's Edge - Positioning Ireland in the 21st Century, we are joined by a diverse group of leaders, thinkers, creators and artists from the world of culture, the creative industries and other businesses, policy and academia to examine aspects of Ireland’s evolving relationship with creativity, in all its facets, and how this relates to our own sense of ‘Irishness’, our bond to this country and our connection to and attraction for the rest of the world. Here, we give voice to people who bring experience and insights from their roles as leaders from across the spectrum of Irish life, and will ask what Ireland can and needs to learn from these insights.
