One of the most exciting artistic events of 2019 was a preview performance of MÁM by Michael Keegan-Dolan’s Teac Damsa in Halla na Feothanaí, West Kerry before its premiere at Dublin’s Theatre Festival this September. Michael with his family and dance company moved to the West Kerry Gaeltacht in 2017 and this wonderful piece of dance theatre is based on the music of the area and Cormac Begley’s unique interpretative playing and performed with the outstanding European classical, contemporary collective, Stargaze.Here, Michael and Cormac discuss the making of Mám and the West Kerry tunes at the heart of it with Other Voices and Ireland's Edge creator Philip King.
